How do I get speed dating matches from an event in Manchester ?
You make notes during the evening about the people you have met on a Smart Card, so be sure to take this home with you at the end of the evening and then log into our web site to input your ticks. Most speed daters are really keen to see who they matched with so you will find that the majority of those attending will have completed theirs by lunchtime the following day. When your speed dating matches start coming through, you can send a message to the person you matched with using the messaging system on our web site. You are only able to send one message to each of your matches so we recommend that you pass on at least an email address so you can continue communicating and perhaps arrange a date.
Will a three minute speed date be long enough?
We have been running speed dating events for since 2003 and the feedback we get is that three minutes is long enough to know if you want to see someone again and short enough for those you definitely wouldn't see again! We suggest you make useful notes about your various people you met, as this will help you remember them when your matches come through! Although you're not going to get to know someone's life history in just three minutes, you should be able to tell if you like what they say, their smile and if there's some chemistry.
How speed dating Works
Once you have booked your speed dating ticket via our web site or over the phone, we assign you your film star alias for the night. On arrival and registration at one of our Manchester speed dating parties (usually at 7.30pm), you'll be given a Smart Card which will contain the film star names of those attending the evening. In addition you'll be given a pen and a sticky name badge showing your film star alias name to let everyone know who you are. We sound the horn about half an hour after registration and everyone takes his or her seat, with seat numbers marked on the Smart Cards. After a short welcome speech in which we explain how the evening works, we sound the horn and the speed dating commences. Throughout the event, ladies stay seated and the men move around.
