Beginning of August - Elan Valley Lodge
Elan Valley Lodge August 2012 - Summer Activity Weekend
We did this in August 2011. Because it was such a hit we're planning on doing it again.
Itinerary:
Friday -
travel with sightseeing en route including Red Kite feeding
Friday
Evening - 3 course dinner followed by games intended to get everyone to know each other
Saturday - breakfast at 8.00am - Walk up to the crag where there will be a number of climbing and abseiling challenges.
If we have enough people for the weekend we can have more instructors allowing
for variations in the challenges
- non participants can watch for as long as they want and then possibly cross the river and walk to the Elan Valley visitor centre.
- lunch eat your packed lunch back at the lodge

Canoeing in open canoes escorted by safety boat. No previous skill needed.

Raft building followed by raft relay races
Saturday Evening - Buffet and Murder Mystery
Sunday - breakfast at 8.00am
- orienteering challenge
- same teams as for raft races
- archery on the village green
- lunch eat
your packed lunch back at the lodge
afternoon trip to Aberystwyth and/or Redkite feeding station (£4.50)
possibly Vale of Rheidol Railway 3 hour return trip on a narrow gauge steam train £14.50 return
Monday Cycle the Elan Valley trail

- home maybe with group sightseeing or walk on the way
