What is a dating party?

Dating parties for singles offer a fantastic night out. Taking place at exclusive bars and clubs, they offer a great opportunity for singles to get together, have fun, mingle and socialise in a relaxed and friendly environment with the added bonus of various optional activities throughout the evening.

Aimed at professionals, dating parties are the perfect way to meet plenty of like-minded single people in a relaxed party atmosphere, with icebreakers always on hand to relax and mingle with daters, whilst also playing cupid to ensure everyone has a good time.

What to expect

Just like speed dating, at a dating party, you'll be greeted by your host on arrival, and invited to register. You'll find numerous activities to explore taking place throughout the venue, such as mini speed dating sessions, lock and key events and photo walls, at many events you'll be given flirt cards to hand out to any guests you'd like to get to know a little better!

All of the activities at dating parties are designed to help daters mingle and get to know one another, but as all events are entirely optional, you're free to choose exactly which activities suit you! If you don’t fancy taking part, just sit back at the bar, mingle with other guests, or hit the dance floor – whatever takes your fancy! All we will say, is come prepared to enjoy yourself and party the night away...

Polaroid encounters wall
At some events guests have their “head and shoulder” photo taken on arrival and the pictures are then displayed on a giant wall known as the “Polaroid Encounters Wall”. Browse the wall and simply leave a flirt card for the guests you're attracted to, and remember to keep checking to see who’s left cards for you!

Lock and key
The ladies are issued with a small padlock and the guys a key. It’s simple – approach any member of the opposite sex that you are attracted to, in search of the lock/key that matches yours; once you find a match, you’re free to flirt with them for as long as you like!

Lock and key games provide the perfect Ice-breaker, so there's no excuse not to approach that good looking guy at the bar, or that gorgeous girl in the corner! Throughout your quest you’ve the potential to meet around 50 or 100 people of the opposite sex - the possibilities are endless!

Speed dating
Mini speed dating sessions take place at many dating parties, running at intervals throughout the evening. You know the format, just a few minutes to impress and be impressed, then later on you can check your matches!

After the event

Just like speed dating, at a dating party you get the opportunity to swap contact details with those you have a mutual 'match' with. Although each event varies, in general this is usually done online after the event, so be sure to make your notes as you go along!
