I actually met my husband Simon at two speed dating events – the first time I wasn’t confident enough to put yes so I just selected friend, he put yes. Unfortunately we never made contact because he thought I wasn’t interested as I didn’t put a firm yes. The second time though, seven months later, I was brave enough to put yes and this time he contacted me. The second time may indeed never have happened – I had just been “dumped” by someone I had been briefly seeing and had been quite upset, Smart dating happened to text me an offer and I thought “well, what do I have to lose?”. Simon received the same offer as well, although was unsure about trying it again – luckily for me he did and the rest is history!

We are now both very happy together, living in our house with our two Labradors. We look forward to our honeymoon in the Maldives in just over a weeks time. We are very grateful to Smart dating and the chances we both took in order for our fate to finally collide.

I came to one of your Cheltenham events on the 12th May 2009. I had never been speed dating before and came with a friend. The evening was very relaxed and my nerves soon eased thanks to the aid of the organizer.

I had a fabulous evening and meet a wonderful guy who could not be more perfect! We exchanged details and even in such a short time I have never looked back. I could never have hoped or expected that I would meet my ultimate soul mate at one of your events so a massive thank you smart dating.

Both of us were unsure about coming and we laugh about it now how easily we could have missed meeting each other. I was Jennifer Anniston and he was Hugh Grant. So again thank you on behalf of both of us for introducing us to each other.

I went to a Smart Dating speed dating event last September, I have to admit at the time I was a little nervous about it and was cajoled into going along with a friend!

I had a great evening though, it was a very well attended event and I enjoyed chatting to loads of different people (all with film star aliases!). Brad Pitt in particular caught my eye and I “ticked” him the next day – we met up later that week and have been together ever since. It was the first time speed dating for both of us so really was a great success!
