It’s no secret that couples who have met online sometimes get married. Heck, some online dating websites are built around the goal of ideally getting married. This is what happened to Alex and Siobahn Rogers, 28 and 23 respectively, after they met online. The unique thing is that they met via the infamous Chatroulette website.
For those not in the loop with the internet, Chartroulette is a website where you can chat face to face with a stranger — oftentimes with an exposed part of their anatomy. The site receives a lot of traffic, and Alex and Siobahn, two people amongst many, found each other.
It’s romantic and not totally improbable, but it’s the first recorded instance of a couple meeting and marrying through the site. As with our earlier blog post on online gaming and its relation to dating, this Chatroulette story also goes to show that the internet is a great place to meet that special someone, and not always through conventional and expected means.
