Crushee is a new sorta online dating website that has been all the buzz on the internet lately, despite the fact that it’s only in beta (pre-release closed access) at the moment. But what’s the deal?
Well, you’ll notice earlier on (right up there, at the start of the first sentence) I mentioned that Crushee was a “new sorta online dating website”. This is because the website’s Twitter expressly states that it’s “not a dating site”, it’s “a social crushing site for adorable people”. Crushing/Crushee — you can see the link. “We are building a social crushing engine that you can use to find people who you will love forever– or at least for a few hours,” says the website’s homepage.
So the deal then is that this isn’t so much an online dating website, it’s an online “crushing” website. This is sort of a flirting type deal. It’s all social back and forth type stuff and you flirt and crush but it’s not expressly dating, or so I assume. Either way, the feedback the site has gathered from Twitter and Facebook have been very positive.
When asked what makes Crushee different to the regular online dating services, the site had this to say: “user quality is extremely high and this might be less about going on dates and more about flirting online”.
It certainly does sound unique and exciting, which is something special in a world filled with match.com and eHarmony knock-offs.
